10 file for spots on Rice Co. Board

There appears to be no shortage of county commissioner candidates in Rice County, with 10 candidates filing for the five available seats. Four of those are in the Fourth District, meaning there will be a primary election in that district on September 14.

The filing period for county commissioner, state legislative, Soil and Water Conservation Supervisors and district and state judges ends Tuesday, July 20. Candidates for county offices and for legislative offices that represent only one county can file at their county auditor's office, while candidates for judicial and state offices representing more than one county must file at the Secretary of State's office in St. Paul.
