108 units collected at NPHS during Bloodmobile stop

New Prague High School’s First Responder Class hosted the American Red Cross Bloodmobile on Wednesday, May 10. There were 108 units of blood collected at the event, with 64 of the donors being first-time donors.

Susan Nytes, Kevin Devine and Drew Geyen were co-chairs of the event. Linnea Hautman’s FACS class made treats for the donors and Econofoods helped the event by donating paper products, chips and juice.

Retired teacher Bob Peulen, a member of the New Prague Ambulance Service, was the adult supervisor on the site.

Since 1995, the New Prague High School Bloodmobile has resulted in donations of 1,886 units of blood. Each unit helps three patients, meaning 5,658 people have been helped.
