Two people were transported from the scene of a one-vehicle rollover that happened on Thursday, Oct. 12, at approximately 10:45 a.m. at the intersection of Le Sueur County Roads 31 and 28, southwest of New Prague.

Le Sueur County deputies and the New Prague Fire Department were called to the scene where they located Shari Gray of Chaska injured in the front seat of her 1999 Ford Escort and her three-month old grandson in a child safety seat in the back.

New Prague Ambulance Service took them both to Queen of Peace Hospital in New Prague. Gray was airlifted by North Air Care to North Memorial Hospital with severe back injuries. She was listed in fair condition as of Tuesday morning.

The baby boy was examined and released to his mother.

Apparently the crash happened when Gray, who was southbound on County Road 31, was unable to stop at the intersection and her vehicle vaulted into the ditch and then into a soy bean field. The vehicle was considered a total loss.
