2020 Main Street project moves ahead
The New Prague City Council unanimously approved three items at its Monday, Oct. 3, meeting concerning the 2020 Main Street project. The council approved a Joint Powers Agreement (JPA) between the city and the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT); the preparation of a report for the project; and a professional engineering services agreement with the engineering firm of Short Elliott Hendrickson (SEH), Inc.
City Engineer Chris Cavett of SEH Inc., introduced Nikki Farrington who will be the main contact for the street and utility improvement project. Farrington said she has experience working with MnDOT.
Under the project, the city will take the lead and MnDOT will reimburse the city for parts of the expenses. There are 12 items that are to be covered by MnDOT, which range from project management to preliminary building inspections. Three items,......
