50th Sno- Bowl set for Dec. 26

The New Prague Sno-Bowl Committee is finalizing plans for this year's annual alumni football game. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the game between the Polars and the Ptarmigans, two teams of New Prague High School Alumni.

This year's game will be played at Memorial Park at noon Saturday, Dec. 26. Because of this year's 50-year milestone, several other events are planned. This includes a Veterans game, for those who do not want to play in the tackle football game at noon. The Veterans game will be a two-hand touch game.

All past players and New Prague High School alumni are welcome to play in this game, which will be held during halftime of the Sno-Bowl game.

Following the usual post-game festivities, there will be a social hour, dinner and program at the KC Hall. The social hour begins at 5 p.m., followed by a ham and turkey dinner with all the trimmings. The program will feature longtime Sno-Bowl participant Dick Jonckowski as master of ceremonies. Advance tickets for the dinner are being sold by Sno-Bowl committee members Eric Steinhoff (612-232-1533), Pete Sticha (952-292-6380), Jim Cavanaugh (952-412-4171), Andy Tupy (952-292-0770), Eric Pikal, and Bob Connolly. Tickets are also available at City Club.
