The match began on Tuesday, Sept. 17, but rain suspended the final singles match between Ruiz and Grace Olson.

Titan coach Phil Murry said Ruiz eventually won the deciding match in “strong fashion”

“She had a 4-3 lead when play was suspended, and won the first two games to take on the first set,” he said. “She then went up 5-1 in the second before finally winning 6-3.”

Murry added that TCU had also won decisively at #3 singles, but had to battle #2 sincles in the early portion of the match and all the way through #3 doubles to win 7-5, 7-5.
