Albert Lea defeats TCU 21-6

The Albert Lea Tigers snapped their 32-game losing streak on Friday, Sept. 30, when they beat the Titans 21-6 in Albert Lea.

Not since October 5, 2012, had the Tigers won a football game, until Friday at their Homecoming game.

The Titans showed promise to set the tone early in the game. The Tigers capped a 93-yard drive in the first quarter with their first touchdown on a 15-yard pass by Sam Chalmers. TCU answered with an 18-yard touchdown run by Marty Kalina. The Titans attempted a two-point conversion, but failed.

That would be it for Titan scoring. However, the Tigers continued adding points right before halftime when running back Jessie Hernandez capped a 91-yard drive by punching in a two-yard touchdown. The extra point put the Tigers at 14 and TCU at 6 at the half.

The Titan offense just couldn't get anything going in the second half. The Tigers added another touchdown in the two minutes to the end of the third quarter for the final score.
