Alfred Born, 73

Alfred Peter Born, 73, of Cottage Grove, formerly of New Prague, died peacefully at his home on Monday, Sept. 18, 2006.

Alfred was born January 13, 1933 in Union Hill, a son of Hubert and Anna (Barton) Born. He grew up in the New Prague area and graduated from New Prague High School in 1951. He was united in marriage to Janice Vostad on August 22, 1959 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in St. Patrick. Alfred served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict before returning home to work and retire from Thermo King Refrigeration Company.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years; a brother, Elmer Born, Inver Grove Heights; and many nieces and

nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Joseph and Gilbert.

Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 22 at St. Rita's Catholic Church in Cottage Grove.

Visitation was held Thursday from 4-8 p.m. at the Kok Funeral Home, Cottage Grove, and one hour prior to the mass at the church.
