Alois Simon, 82

Alois E. “Cassidy” Simon, 82, of New Prague, died Sunday, Sept. 25, 2011, at the Three Links Care Center in Northfield.

Born July 1, 1929, in Wheatland Township, Rice County, Al was a son of Joseph J. and Emma (Ceplecha) Simon. He was a lifelong resident of the Veseli area. He attended the Veseli school and New Prague schools, and was a farmer. Al served in the U.S. Army from 1954-1956. He was a member of the New Prague VFW and American Legion posts.

He is survived by nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and four siblings Edward J. Simon Sr., Joseph T. Simon, Stanley F. Simon and Helen Uhlir.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Sept. 29, at 10 a.m., at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Veseli, with Rev. John Lapensky officiating. Interment will be at the Holy Trinity Cemetery in Veseli. Pallbearers will be Myron Simon, William Simon, Alan Simon, Ronald Simon, Bruce Simon and Butch Sirek.

Visitation was held from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the Bruzek Funeral Home in New Prague.
