Ambroz is a finalist for Mr. Hockey
New Prague High School senior Matt Ambroz is one of 10 finalists for the annual Mr. Hockey Award, which will be awarded by the Minnesota Minutemen at a banquet at the RiverCentre in St. Paul March 6.
Ambroz is fifth in the state in scoring, with 42 goals and 27 assists for 69 points entering the playoffs. He has been a varsity player for the Trojans for four years, and earlier this year topped 200 points for his career.
Other candidates for the award are Brian Connelly of Bloomington Jefferson, Robby Dee of Breck, R.J. Anderson of Centennial, Mitch Ryan of Cloquet/Esko/Carlton, Jared Hummel of Holy Angels, Brian Lee of Moorhead, Chris Vandevelde of Moorhead, Matt Niskanen, of Virginia/Mt. Iron-Buhl and T.J. Oshie of Warroad.
