Another Eagle in our midst

A ceremony was held March 30, at the historic Trondhjem Lutheran Church in Lonsdale to introduce a new Eagle Scout. Dan Simon, of New Prague, was presented the Eagle Symbols by Paul Woyda, Scoutmaster, Troop 323. These symbols represent the honor of achieving the highest rank in Boy Scouts.

Troop committee chairman Craig Turner, presented Dan with a large ceramic eagle as a gift from the troop. The eagle stands for knowledge of all phases of scouting. A detailed description of ranks, merit badges and activities in the troop was shared by Randy Sauer, Commissioner for the Northern Star Council. Randy also gave the Eagle Charge as is tradition.

With this charge, Eagle Scouts are reminded that they have:

• assumed a solemn obligation to God
