Area team headed to national tourney

On August 14-15, the Red Door Bar Women’s Slow Pitch Softball Team, based in Belle Plaine, but with several women from New Prague on the team, competed in the Class DD Women’s Slow Pitch State Tournament, playing six games over the weekend. The team placed third, earning a spot in the National Tournament, scheduled for September 23-26 in Lawton, OK.

This may be a once in a lifetime opportunity for some of the players. With this in mind, the team is asking for donations to help fund their trip to Oklahoma. They will be sending 15 players and two coaches to nationals.
