Attempted robbery at Walgreens

A 20-year-old Webster man was arrested Saturday after an attempted robbery at the Walgreens Pharmacy in New Prague.

According to New Prague Police, the man came into the pharmacy shortly before 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 18, and allegedly threatened the use of explosives. He then fled the scene in a vehicle.

The victim/witness identified the suspect and New Prague Police, with assistance from the Scott and Rice County sheriff's offices and Lonsdale Police, arrested the man at a residence in rural Webster. He is being held in the Le Sueur County Jail pending charges for attempted aggravated robbery, second degree assault and terroristic threats. The Times does not identify suspects until they have been formally charged.
