ATVs stolen from work site

Four all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) were stolen from a work site between Waterville and Montgomery.

According to Le Sueur County Chief Deputy Nick Greenig, the ATVs were reported stolen from a solar garden construction site located about two miles north of Waterville on Highway 13, Monday morning, September 11.

“It is believed the theft occurred sometime between the night of September 9 and early morning September 11,” Greenig stated.

One of the four ATVs—a 2017 Polaris Ranger—was recovered shortly after authorities were notified.

“It was found down in the area of Highway 13 and County Road 12, in the ditch. I’m assuming it broke down,” Greenig explained.

The three ATVs that remain missing are green and black in color and have two extended seat benches. One is a 2017 Polaris Ranger; the other two are 2016 Polaris Rangers.

According to Greenig, entry was made through the construction site’s secured gate and access was made to the on-site storage locker where the ATV keys were stored.

“The ATVs are from a rental company out of the metro area. There are no registration stickers on them, but we do have VIN numbers and such,” Greenig reported.

Anyone with information regarding this crime is asked to contact the Le Sueur County Sheriff’s Office at 507-357-4440.
