Aurelia Mares of New Prague was honored as 2004 Scott County Outstanding Senior Citizen at the Scott County Fair...Just one month into his new job as Lonsdale City Administrator, Myles McGrath resigned last week, citing personal issues...Crews began the process of demolishing the old wall of the Pioneer Saloon, which was damaged by a fire that destroyed the adjoining building earlier this year...For the fourth year the Tri County Chargers participated in the State Summer Games of the Special Olympics.

Col. Jerry Flicek, retired Air Force officer and former mayor of New prague, died August 5, at the age of 86...New Prague High School senior Ryan Mamer is in a coma in a Twin Cities hospital following a two-car crash in Scott County...Carla Sevcik, daughter of Jerry and Sue Sevcik, was crowned Miss Lonsdale at the pageant that kicked off Lonsdale Community Days ...Steph Neisen, Stephen Gross and Brad Drazan, each won the championship in their divisions at the annual Junior Golf Tournament at New Prague Golf Club on August 4.

The New Prague Park Board, along with the Park Facilities Task Force, reviewed two plans for an athletic complex and redevelopment of Memorial Park...A Henderson man was killed Saturday morning when the pickup truck he was driving went off the road and caught fire four miles west of New Prague...Preliminary plans for the Lonsdale Community Center were unveiled in one of two public meetings in Lonsdale on August 11...New Prague High School’s fall sports teams began practice for the 2004 season on Monday.

New Prague Area Schools may close to open enrollment as early as October 1...The New Prague Park Board discussed plans for a referendum and decided to go with scaled back plans for a new athletic complex southwest of the current city limits and redevelopment of Memorial Park...People who love polka music kept things hopping at the New Prague Park Ballroom last weekend as nearly 1,200 people were in New Prague for the annual Polkafest...The New Prague Golf Club held its 2004 Club Championships and named Eric Witty, Beth Krouse and Jim Kohout winners in their respective divisions.
