Barry King, 29

Barry King, 29, of Mounds View, died Tuesday, Oct. 9. He was born June 25, 1983, in Minneapolis, to John A. and M a r l e n e (Sirek) King. After receiving his GED, he continued his education at Dunwoody College. He worked various jobs, including at Cummins Generators, where he served as team lead paint line operator. Barry had a passion for fishing, fast driving, listening to music and barbecuing, but his biggest passion was spending time with his son, girlfriend and family. He is survived by a son, Blake; girlfriend, Trang Nguyen; mother Marlene A. King of Bloomington, formerly of New Prague; sisters Andrea (Marc) Porter and Dawna (Nick) Matthews; brothers Geoffrey (Ashley), Brandon and Jason King and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Friday, Oct. 19, at New Bethel Baptist Church in Minneapolis, with the Rev. Clarence Hightower officiating. Visitation was held one hour prior to the service. Arrangements were with Washburn- McReavy Funeral Home - Swanson Chapel.
