Baseball goes 2-2 in first doubleheaders

 

After a soggy, wet and snowy spring, the TCU Baseball bats began swinging on Saturday, April 25 in Norwood Young America.
 
TCU 5, Norwood 3
TCU picked up two runs in the sixth inning to tie the game and then scored three runs in the seventh to win the first game of the season over Norwood.
 
Pitchers Dave Trcka and Joe Rynda combined to throw a No-Hitter. Trcka pitched the first three innings getting two strikeouts and walking three. Rynda pitched four innings striking out seven while walking six.
Ryan Iverson led the Titans with three hits. Joe Rynda picked up two hits.
 
TCU 5, Norwood 6
In the second game of the doubleheader, Norwood jumped out to a 4-0 led on the way to their victory. TCU came back to make the score 4-3 before going down by a scored of 6-5.
 
Jordan Yetzer started on the mound for TCU, pitching two innings, striking out two and walking two. Jake Johnson pitched 3.2 innings, while Ted Christian picked up the final out of the game.
 
David Trcka picked up two hits for TCU, while Joe Kalina and Cole Pint each picked up one hit.
 
TCU 1, Belle Plaine 3
On April 29, Belle Plaine came away from the first game of the double header with a 3-1 victory.
 
Trevor Smisek started for the Titans on the mound pitching four innings striking out five and walking two.
 
Ryan Iverson, Aaron Dwyer, and Trevor Smisek each picked up a hit for TCU.
 
TCU 4, Belle Plaine 3
In the second game, Titan Ted Christian pitched the complete game for TCU. Christian pitched six innings, striking out five, while walking 0. He gave up only three hits and three unearned runs.
 
Seven Titans each picked up one hit. Matt Holicky picked up an RBI in the second inning. Joe Kalina and Dave Trcka each picked up an RBI in the third inning on base hits.
