Baseball playoffs rescheduled

Due to rain on Wednesday, Aug. 10, the Region 3C Baseball playoff game between Montgomery and Shakopee at Montgomery was suspended in the second inning, with no score. Play will resume at 8 p.m. tonight (Friday). The loser is the No. 3 seed from Region 3C at the State tournament. The winner will play at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 12, at Prior Lake to determine the No. 1 and No. 2 seeds. If Prior Lake loses on Saturday, the teams will play again at 1 p.m. Sunday. If Prior Lake wins either of the two games, they will be the No. 1 seed and the other team will be the No. 2 seed from the region. 

All three teams, plus No. 4 seed St. Benedict, will compete in the State Class C State Tournament, which begins August 19 in Hutchinson and Dassel. The top seed gets a bye into the second weekend of the tournament.
