Berg to ski at state meet
New Prague High School freshman Maria Berg, daughter of Dr. Mark and Julie Berg, qualified for the State Nordic Ski meet by placing sixth Tuesday, Feb. 5, at the Section 1 meet at Valleywood Golf Course in Apple Valley.
She becomes the first NPHS skier to qualify for the state Nordic Ski meet. The meet will be held Thursday, Feb. 14, at Giant’s Ridge in Biwabik. The girls team finished 11th and the boys team ninth at the section meet. NPHS skiers compete as part of a cooperative with Prior Lake during the regular season, but compete separately during the post-season.
