Bernice Michel, 75
Bernice G. Michel, 75, of Webster, died Thursday, Oct. 28, 2010, at her home.
Born June 21, 1935, in Derrynane Township, Le Sueur County, she was a daughter of Theodore and Gertrude (Glisczinski) Odenthal. Born and raised in the St. Thomas area, Bernice attended St. Thomas Country School and Le Sueur High School. She married Francis Michel on June 18, 1955, at Heidelberg, and was a homemaker. She was a member of the St. Nicholas Christian Mothers. Bernice enjoyed sewing, baking, going to casinos and her pets.
She is survived by children Robert (Cindy) Michel, Webster, Deborah (Gilbert) Bisek, Heidelberg, JoAnn (Alan) Hanson, Richfield, Mark Michel, Webster and Chuck Michel, Las Vegas, NV; 13 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; siblings Rosemary Burns, Henderson, Donald (Penny) Odenthal, Brooklyn Park, Connie (Julie) Odenthal, Le Center and Dorothy (Donald) Patterson, Willow River; and sister-in-law Marilyn Odenthal, Arlington.
She was preceded in death by her husband on February 26, 2003; a grandson Troy Bisek; her parents; and a brother William Odenthal.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Nov. 4, at 10 a.m., at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in New Market, with Rev. James Adams officiating.
Interment will be at St. Nicholas Cemetery, New Market. Pallbearers will be grandchildren Matt Michel, Molly Minar, Alex Michel, Andy Michel, Gil Bisek, Sarah Vlasak, Jeremy Bisek, Laura Bisek, Barbara Bisek, Ben Hanson, Heidi Hanson-Cross, Chris Hanson and Jenn Hanson.
Visitation was held from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the Bruzek Funeral Home in New Prague.
