Bessie Campbell, 87

Bessie Teresa Campbell, 87, of Montgomery, died Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2008, at the Mala Strana Health Care Center in New Prague.

Born May 20, 1921, in Montgomery Township, Bessie was a daughter of Albert and Mary (Franta) David. She graduated from Montgomery High School in 1939. She owned and operated Campbell Decorating in Pine River and also worked for Blue Cross Blue Shield, Tommy Dale Child Care and the Zenith Company. Bessie married Charles Campbell on April 23, 1953, in Waupun, WI. She moved back to Montgomery in 1990 after Charles died. She was a member of the KC Auxiliary, Montgomery Women of Today, Holy Redeemer CCW and the Senior Citizens Group. Bessie enjoyed crafting, traveling, baking and gambling.

She is survived by a sister Kay (Bill) Vogel, New Market; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a brother Albert (Mary) David; and a sister Beatrice (Ervy) Lorenz.

Funeral services were held Monday, Aug. 11, at 11:30 a.m., at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery, with Rev. David Barrett officiating.

Burial was at Calvary Cemetery in Montgomery. Pallbearers were Bob Vogel, John Christiansen, David Christiansen, Mary Christiansen, Ken Vogel, Tony Vogel, Anita Drentlaw and Karen Ramola.

Visitation was held from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Monday at the church.

Arrangements were with Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery.
