Beverly Plonski, 67

Beverly Plonski, 67, of Belle Plaine died on Monday, July 26, 2010, at St. Francis Medical Center in Shakopee.

Beverly was born on October 13, 1942, in Duluth, a daughter of Walter and Aune (Maa) Arfman. She grew up in Floodwood and graduated from Floodwood High School. She received her Occupational Therapy Associate Degree and worked as an activity director in Minneapolis prior to moving to Belle Plaine. Beverly married Joseph Plonski on June 14, 1972, in Minneapolis. She worked as an activities director at the Lutheran Home for many years. She later worked as a case aide for Scott County until her retirement on October 26, 2006. She was a VFW and American Legion Auxiliary member and a past district president of the VFW. She was also a volunteer for the American Red Cross bloodmobile and was a Belle Plaine Historical Society board member.

She is survived by a son Jim (Shari) Esson, Austin; grandchildren Afton and Mackenzie Esson; brothers Edward (LaVonne) Arfman, Queens Creek, AZ, John (Susan) Arfman, Wright and David (Colleen) Arfman, Floodwood; sister-in-law Sharon Arfman, Scandia; special nephew Taylor Brandt; and many nieces, nephews and special friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a brother Raymond Arfman; and an infant brother.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, July 29, at St. John Lutheran Church in Belle Plaine. Visitation was held from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Kolden Funeral Home in Belle Plaine, and continued one hour prior to the service on Thursday at church. VFW and American Legion Auxiliary prayers were held at 7 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home.

Interment was at the St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery in Lexington.
