Board hears update on strategic plan

The New Prague Area School Board heard an update on its strategic planning process from Candace Raskin, a consultant who has been guiding the district through the process.

Raskin explained that the district was involved in a 10-step process, with six of the steps are already completed. Step 7, is for the leadership to review and adopt the strategic plan. That is already in progress, as a draft of the plan has been developed and Step 8 - editing the document - is underway. Once those two steps are completed, it will await adoption by the school board, possibly as early as January, and finally, implementation.

Raskin said that the goal of the process was not to rush out with short-term document, but to put together a long-term plan that will guide the district.

She said she has learned much about the district in the months she has been working with administration and staff.
