Board holding work session on superintendent search

The New Prague Area School Board will hold a work session prior to its regular meeting Monday, Jan. 28, regarding the search for a new superintendent to lead the district.

The work session will begin at 5:15 p.m. in the board room. Discussion will include components of the search, search timeline and meeting dates, a superintendent profile, the use of community focus groups and community involvement in the interview process.

Other issues to be discussed include experience, salary and benefits, the superintendent's residence, a search brochure and external and internal communications.

The board's regular meeting is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. One item of new business is discussion of security issues in district buildings in light of the recent shootings at a school in Newtown, CT, and the beginning steps of the budgeting process for 2013-14.
