Boys run 8th at Shakopee
New Prague's boys cross country team completed its regular season at the Shakopee Invitational at Murphy's Landing, with New Prague finishing eighth of nine teams.
Mound Westonka won the meet with 34 points, followed by Holy Family (71), Red wing (72), Prior Lake (120), Farmington (123), Shakopee (137), Northfield (147), New Prague (188) and Waconia (247).
New Prague's best finisher was sophomore Johnathan Geiger, who was ninth in a time of 17 minutes, 30.2 seconds. Andrew Salaba was next for New Prague, finishing 28th in 18:17.3. Next for New Prague was Andy Roach in 25th (18:58.5). Zach Johnson finished 50th (19:08.9), Zach Dietz 52nd (19:13.8) and Ashton Hlavac was 54th (19:42.3).
Farmington's Elliot Fenske won the race in 16:30.8.
The Trojans were ninth of 10 teams in the JV race. New Prague was led by seventh-grader Josh Dvorak, who was 43rd overall in 20:31.1.
The Trojans will run in the Section 2AA meet Thursday, Oct. 29, at Eagle Creek Golf Club in Willmar
