Boys score late to tie Hutchinson

The New Prague Trojan hockey team saw its 10-game losing streak come to a halt Thursday, Jan. 26, when they played Hutchinson to a 3-3 tie. On Saturday, Jan. 28, New Prague travelled to Luverne and lost by a 6-0 score.

The Trojans were scheduled to face Waconia Tuesday, Jan. 31. They will host Delano/Rockford (No. 3, Class A) on Friday, Feb. 3, and play at Mound Westonka Tuesday, Feb. 7. New Prague travels to Blake on Thursday, Feb. 9.

Trojans 3, Tigers 3 New Prague was looking to get back into the win column and wasted little time as Logan Reger scored just 33 seconds into the contest, assisted by Ian Cameron and Jamison Hanson. The Trojans made it 2-0 at the 5-minute mark when Frank Ruzicka scored, assisted by Mason Davis and Ethan Marek. New Prague outshot the Tiger 21-3 in the first period.

However the second period was not kind to the Trojans, as they allowed three goals and trailed at the second intermission 3-2.
