Boys track team has good showing at True Team sections

The New Prague Trojan boys had a respectable showing at the Section 1AAA boys True Team track meet at Lakeville North Tuesday, May 7.

The Trojans finished in the middle of the pack, fifth among nine teams. Owatonna won the meet with 882.5 points. Farmington was second at 828, followed by Lakeville North (748), Rochester Century (746), New Prague (723.5), Lakeville South (691.5), Rochester Mayo (568), Rochester John Marshall (436.5) and Northfield (348).

The Trojans had a number of top five finishes. They included Drew Schoenbauer, second at 20 feet, 0.25 inches in the long jump and fourth at 40-11 in the triple jump; Ben Hendrickson third at 11.71 in the 100 meters, fifth at 12-6 in the pole vault, Zach Jones third in the triple jump at 41-feet, Josh Polson, fifth in the 400 in 52.72, Blake Wooten, fifth in the 3200 in 10:10.13, Thomas Widmer fifth in high jump at 5 feet, 10 inches; 4x100 relay second, 4x400 and 4x800, third.

Finishing in the top 10 were Zach Dietz sixth in the 3200, Peter Molitor sixth in the long jump, Lucas Binger seventh in the 200, JT Butler seventh in the 100 hurdles and 10th in the 300 hurdles, Dakota Greenwalt, eighth in the 800, Jones ninth in the long jump and Polson, 10th in the 100.
