Boys win 2 more; stay unbeaten

With two more wins, the New Prague Trojans are off to their best start in recent memory with a 11-0 record as the season nears the halfway mark.

The Trojans defeated Farmington 67-43 on Tuesday, Jan. 3, and Buffalo 59- 39 on Friday, Jan. 6.

The Trojans are ranked No. 8 in Class AAAA. They will travel to Chaska Friday, Jan. 13, for a makeup game, then play at No. 9-ranked Eden Prairie on Tuesday, Jan. 17. The Trojans travel to Delano (No. 2, Class AAA) for their Wright County Conference opener Friday, Jan. 20.

"Our defensive energy and focus was outstanding all week against Farmington and Buffalo," Coach Bryce Tesdahl said. "We had all five players on the floor communicating and rotating to the ball for 36 minutes each night. Offensively, we were much better against Farmington than Buffalo, but we continue to receive balanced scoring from starters and role players."

Trojans 67, Tigers 43 Tylar Lindell got the Trojans started on the right foot, scoring the first seven points of the game as the Trojans defeated Farmington 67-43 at Farmington.

Lindell would not score the rest of the game, but his jumpstart got the Trojans going in the right direction. New Prague led 14-0 before the Tigers got on the board and led 36-18 at the half.

Zach Hansen led the Trojans with 15 points, while Jacob Milinkovich had 14 and Jared Milinkovich 11. Also scoring for New Prague were Tyler Kemp (8), Lindell (7), Austin Zimmer (4), Jacob Washa (3), Sam Friedrich and Andrew Schmitz (2 each) and Somto Eneh (1).
