Bucs open playoffs with win

WEM senior Tyson Miska scored a pair of defensive touchdowns in leading the Buccaneer football team to a 54-14 win over Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial Tuesday in the Section 2AA Quarterfinals in Waterville. Miska returned an interception and a fumble for touchdowns and five others scored touchdowns in the rout. Taylor Glende scored a pair of rushing touchdowns and Jaden Taylor gained more than 100 yards rushing. The Bucs will face the state's other Buccaneer team Saturday, Oct. 28 in the Section 2AA Semifinals at 7 p.m. in Waterville. Blue Earth Area, the No. 3 seed in the section, defeated Medford, 34-15 in a section quarterfinal Tuesday. NRHEG and Maple River will play in the other section semifinal Saturday.
