The team hosted New Ulm in a Saturday game on December 8. Bulldog Coach Shawn Carlson said the team had a great comeback in the third period. Zallek made the Bulldogs’ first goal of the night in the first period. That was followed by New Ulm scoring four minutes later.
The second period saw neither team scoring, but the third period found New Ulm scoring twice before the Bulldogs’ Austin Braun scored twice. In his first, he was assisted by Favre and Zallek. The second was assisted by Luke Regner.
“We were down two goals with two minutes left to go, and we were able to finish strong to tie it,” he said. “I thought we outchanced them in the overtime period, but we just couldn’t find the game winner. We were proud of the boys’ effort.”
