Carol Johnson, 85
Carol Jean Johnson, 85, of Northfield, formerly of Little Chicago in rural Lonsdale, died Saturday, Sept. 6, 2008, at the Northfield Manor.
She was born March 7, 1923, at home in Greenvale Township, Dakota County, a daughter of Roscoe and Amie (Petersen) Sorensen. She married Floyd E. Johnson on September 2, 1941, at East Christiania Lutheran Church. Carol worked as a nursing assistant at the Northfield Care Center for over 20 years, retiring in 1990. She had been an active member of Trondhjem Lutheran Church in Lonsdale and was also a committee member of the Trondhjem Community Preservation Society.
She is survived by a son, Harlan, Lilydale; seven daughters Bev (Richard) Hussey, Northfield, Sandy Valek, Northfield, Barb Lentsch, Lilydale, Bonnie Pavek, Northfield, Roxanne Simon, Northfield, Deb Simon, Veseli and Kim Smisek, Lonsdale; 23 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband on May 21, 1997.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 13, at the Trondhjem Lutheran Church in Lonsdale.
Interment was at Trondhjem Lutheran Cemetery.
Visitation was held from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the church, and continued one hour prior to the services on Saturday.
Arrangements were with the Benson & Langehough Funeral Home in Northfield.
