Carol Mamer, 74
Carol Ann Mamer, 74, of Mankato, died Monday, Jan. 3, 2011, at Immanuel St. Joseph's Hospital in Mankato.
Carol was born November 5, 1936, in Mankato, a daughter of Robert and Lorraine (Guentzel) Borgmeier. She was a 1954 graduate of Loyola High School. She married Henry Hank Mamer Jr. on April 13, 1959, at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Carol had previously been employed with SM Supply, and later co-owned and assisted her husband with Hank's Service in Mankato. She was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, the Lady Jaycees, Caledonia Curling Club, Mankato Tennis Club, and 4-H. She was a great softball player who inspired her children how to play, and was proud of the fact that she had made an unassisted triple play. Carol also enjoyed taking care of her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, going out to eat, and helping the customers at Hank's Service.
She is survived by her husband; sons Randy (Lori) Mamer and Kevin Mamer; two grandchildren Lindsay (Geoffrey) Rozek and Matthew Mamer; two great- granddaughters Emma and Bella Rozek; two sisters Patty (Gordy) Lingbeck and Marion (Jim) Falkenhagen; a brother Roger Porky (Pat) Borgmeier; sisters-in-law Colleen Borgmeier and Mary (Art) Mamer-Cox; brothers-in-law John (Cathy) Mamer, Lee (Arlene) Mamer, and Butch (Gloria) Mamer; aunt Florence (Ken) Hiniker; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister Barb Hoffman; brother David Borgmeier; brother-in-law Don Hoffman; and many aunts and uncles.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 6, at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Mankato, with Rev. Ted Hottinger officiating. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation was held from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at North Mankato Mortuary-Northview, with a 7 p.m. Prayer Service. Visitation continues one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.
