Celebrate the holidays with Holli-Stories III

It’s that wintery time year, which means holiday shopping, Christmas Concerts and the annual Holli-Stories event for the Montgomery Arts and Heritage Center.

This year, the event will be held Saturday, Dec. 10 at the Next Chapter Winery. Stories and original vignettes, some comical and some serious in nature, will feature local author/playwright, Bette Traxler. The night aims to entertain people as they sit back, sip wine and enjoy an evening supporting the Center.

In its third year, Traxler said she uses several people to put on Holli-Stories, which serve as a fundraiser for the Center. However two of her performers have appeared in all of her shows.

“My core group is Jenny Wallskog and Dan Germscheid. Each year I write a special 15-minute play for them. They’re great friends from long ago and they play off of each other really well,” Traxler said.

The feature of the night is a short comedic play surrounding an aspect of the Christmas Story and some of the characters in it. Last year Germscheid and Wallskog played one of the three kings and his wife. The year before, Germsheid was a shepherd, and Wallskog was the angel who appeared in the field to convince him to go to town. This year it is about the innkeepers.
