Chamber of Commerce sets course - Kick-off event planned for Nov. 15
The Montgomery Chamber of Commerce shifted into high gear at a meeting held Thursday evening, Oct. 6 at the Montgomery American Legion Club.
Led by interim president, Kurt Dvorak, the interim board of directors and those in attendance (approximately half of the current membership roster) tackled a lengthy to-do list. With thorough discussions and majority votes on the agenda items, the decisions set the course for the organization as it shifts into full operation.

The Chamber's proposed bylaws were fine-tuned. It was decided that seven members will serve on the board of directors. Each will hold an office or role, serving as president, vice president, secretary, treasurer, membership chair, activities chair, or social media chair.
The election of the Board of Directors will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 15. The election process was discussed and the formation of a four-member nominating committee was approved.
The nominating committee volunteers will visit with interested members in order to prepare a slate of board candidates. Although an offer to house the Chamber office rent-free for up to twelve months at the Edina Realty building had been received and accepted at a previous meeting, two new location offers had been brought forth. Therefore, the office location topic was revisited and created a lengthy discussion.
