Charlotte M. Granite, 42, of Freeport, died on Sunday, July 10, 2005, at her home.
She born in New Prague on May 18, 1963, to Marvin and Lavina Wandersee. Char graduated from Holdingford High School in 1981 and in 1997 she graduated from the Augsburg College Physician Assistant Program.
Char married Dennis Granite on October 4, 1997, at the Newman Center in St. Cloud. Following their marriage, they lived in the St. Cloud area where she worked as a physician assistant through the St. Cloud Medical Group, Cold Spring office. Char joined the Army National Guard in September of 1998 and was a member of Charlie Company of the 134th Forward Support Battalion. In 2004, she joined the Paynesvile Area Health Care System. She also taught religion and sang in the St. Rose of Lima Church choir.
Char is survived by her husband; son, Jacob Thelen, St. Cloud; daughters, Jessica, Jenelle and Jordain Thelen, Freeport; mother, Lavina Wandersee, Cold Spring; brothers and sisters, John (Barbara) Wandersee, Pensacola, FL, Paul (Jane) Wandersee, Osakis, Judy (Jim) Slinkard, New Prague, Patricia “Trish” (Paul) Garmon, Kimball, David (Marilyn) Wandersee, Council Bluffs, IA, Daniel Wandersee, Maple Lake, Tony (Debra Kellerman) Wandersee, Oak Island, Monica (Brian) Maine, Holdingford, Mark (Tracy) Wandersee, Oconomowoc, WI.
She was preceded in death by her father, Martin Wandersee, in November, 2002.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 13, at the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, St. Rosa. Rev. Roger Klassen officiated.
Visitation was from 5 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday at the Miller-Carlin-Brenny Funeral Home in Holdingford. Parish prayers were said at 8 p.m.
