City to take ownership of community center
The New Prague City Council and New Prague Economic Development Authority will hold a joint meeting at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 27, where both groups are expected to approve an agreement transferring ownership of the New Prague Area Community Center from the EDA to the city.
Also at the meeting, the city is expected to approve several agreements with the New Prague Area Schools to clear the way for expansion for the community center.
The community center will continue to be operated by the non-profit New Prague Area Community Center Association, which built the facility in 1996 on land donated by the school district to the EDA.
