Conrad Guenther, 64

Conrad Paul Guenther, 64, of Jordan, died on Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2005, at St. Gertrude’s Health Care Center in Shakopee.

He was born on May 16, 1941, in Minneapolis, to Paul and Irene (Lade) Guenther. He grew up in Northeast Minneapolis and graduated from Edison High School in 1959. He played golf for the Edison High School golf team and was recruited by the University of Minnesota golf team and was Minnesota State Amateur Golf Champion. Conrad graduated from Mankato State University with a degree in business and accounting. He also served in the National Guard.

Conrad married Kay Peterson on December 17, 1966 and then resided in Jordan. Conrad worked as a retail accountant for Nash-Finch, Red Owl and Fairway Foods and was active in coaching youth sports. He had a great appreciation for nature and loved to hunt, fish and golf.

He is survived by his mother; wife; children, Kate (Randy) Moroney, Peter Guenther, Kari (Mike) Quinn; three grandchildren, Ian, Alex and Aiden; mother, Irene Graham, Minneapolis; sisters-in-law, Marsha Peterson and Becky (Steve) Jones; brother-in-law, Chris (Biz) Peterson; mother-in-law, Doris Peterson; several nieces and nephews.

Conrad was preceded in death by his father; father-in-law, Kenneth Peterson; brother-in-law, Jack Peterson.

Visitation was held on Thursday at Hope Lutheran Church in Jordan.

Funeral services were held on Friday at Hope Lutheran Church in Jordan. Pastor Steven Thompson presided.
