Contestants sought for Miss Czech Slovak Minnesota

The Miss Czech Slovak Minnesota Pageant is looking for young women of Czech, Slovak or Moravian heritage to compete for the state title.

The 17th annual Miss Czech Slovak Minnesota pageant will be held on April 8, 2006 at the American Legion Club in Montgomery.

Competition is for women who are between the ages of 16 and 26 years old. Pageant winners receive cash awards, crowns and will have a year of memorable appearances throughout the State of Minnesota. The new Miss Czech Slovak Minnesota Queen travels to the National Miss Czech Slovak USA Pageant in Wilber, Neb.

An ethnic dinner with entertainment by the Montgomery Czech Singers will precede the pageant with dinner being served at 5 p.m. and the pageant starting at 7 p.m. A queen’s reception and dance will follow the coronation.

The reigning Miss Czech Slovak Minnesota Queen is Rebecca Komarek, daughter of Brad and Sharon Komarek of Shakopee. Lisa Chromy of New Prague, daugther of Joe and Ann Chromy, is the Miss Czech Slovak Minnesota Princess.
