The New Prague City Council discussed finances concerning the city's new Wastewater Treatment Plant at a special meeting Monday, Nov. 10.
City Administrator Mike Johnson explained that city staff worked with Springsted, Inc., of St. Paul to go over future finances and develop an appropriate payment schedule for the Public Facilities Authority 20-year loan financing.
Presenting the report from Springsted were Terri Heaton, senior vice president, and Patty Kettles, vice president.
An earlier analysis for the project showed a higher rate of growth for the community. The new study takes into account the slowdown in housing and changes in the economy.
Springsted's recommendations are based on more conservative projections of New Prague's growth over the next 20 years. The study recommends higher rate increases for the city's sewer service than in the previous analysis.
The economy is a little bit scary today
