Council honors Bohnsack at last meeting as city administrator

Patrick Fisher, Staff Writer

Two people shared the desk of city administrator at the New Prague City Council meeting Monday, July 21.

Retiring administrator Jerry Bohnsack oversaw his last council meeting and new administrator Michael Johnson, on his first day on the job, was at his first meeting.

Bohnsack will retire on Thursday, July 31. The council honored Bohnsack for his 33 years of service as New Prague's first city administrator by presenting him with a plaque.

Councilmember Duane Jirik read the plaque, which listed how Bohnsack's leadership helped the city through its growth and effectively served the community.

In a brief speech, Bohnsack said people have been asking what is he going to do with his Monday nights now. He jokingly said, probably watch football.

I will always treasure the friends I've made of the people I've worked for
