County board hears from human services staff

 

Members of the human services social services team were introduced as part of the  department report delivered to the Le Sueur County Board at the meeting held Tuesday, July 16.

 

Team members gave a brief overview of their programs in relating to the clients they serve. Each staff member works in specific areas, such as case management, developmental disabilities waiver, child care and day care, adult and family foster care, infant care, elder care and warning signs of abuse, neglect, and financial exploitation.

Human Services Director Sue Rynda also gave her monthly report and update to the commissioners, using graphs to show comparisons with the previous year.

 

The board also:  

• Approved recommendation by Human Resources Director Cindy Westerhouse to hire John Ehrhardt as a full time highway maintenance worker effective July 22. Westerhouse had earlier presented length of service awards to the following employees: Tom Schindler, highway department, 40 years; Mary Brockway, public health, and Sue Rynda, human services, 25 years; Bruce Collins, sheriff’s office, Kathy Siebsen, human services, and Sharon Erickson, public health, 20 years; Debbie Serich, huma n services, and Dennis Androli, highway department, five years.

 

•  Approved request by Information Technology Director Scott Gerr to purchase a VMware Essentials Plus Kit and Production Support from Syntax Inc. of St. Paul for a total of $7,577.

 

• Will change the time for starting regular meetings to 9 a.m., beginning in August.
