'Crunch-time' at Falcon Ridge

It was no April Fools joke. Wednesday, April 1, marked the fifth consecutive year Timberwolves mascot, Crunch, was at Falcon Ridge Elementary School in New Prague for a Fitness Fever Workout with second grade students.

Crunch's appearance was a reward to students for participating in Fitness Fever Month during March. For the month-long program students had to eat five fruits and vegetables a day. Physical education teacher Dana Smith explained the 71 students ate 2,671 fruits and vegetables during the school day for snacks and lunch over the month. Students also had to exercise five days a week for 30 minutes.
