Warning that a reduction in state aid coming to the county on December 31 is only the beginning of long-term economic problems for Le Sueur County, Auditor Ron Germscheid told the county commissioners at their December 23 meeting that some difficult decisions will need to be made in coming months.

Reporting to the board on 'unallotments' because of the state budget crisis, Germscheid said the county is expecting its second half state aid payment to come in at $215,029 short of what had been anticipated.
