Dale Robert Sapp, 79

Dale Robert Sapp was born to Ernest James Sapp and Lillian Marie Augusta Ponwith, July 20, 1925, on the farm his grandfather started in 1897, 4 miles south of Le Center, Minnesota. He was a baptized and confirmed member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Le Center. Dale attended the Scheffert Country School through 8th grade and graduated from McKinley High School in 1943.

Dale worked beside his father from a young age, learning what was to become his life's work and passion — farming. During his younger years, he enjoyed attending dances with friends and singing in the church choir. It was in the choir that he met his future wife and companion of 54 years, Betty Marie Wohlers. Betty and Dale were married on September 24, 1950 at St. Paul Lutheran. They were blessed with four children: Robert, Ruth, Rita and Robyn.

Dale Sapp loved to farm. He especially enjoyed caring for livestock and developed his father's dairy herd into one of the top-producing, registered herds in Minnesota. He was a committed man. Dale was active in the D.H.I.A. (Dairy Herd Improvement Association), church council, school board, and also served on the building committee for the current 4-H building at the Le Sueur County Fairgrounds. Dale's favorite motto was, a good boss always works;” there was to be no sitting around while others were getting work done!

Dale was a caring son to his parents
