Dave Moonen, 63
Dave E. Moonen, 63, of Shakopee, died Thursday, Nov. 25, 2010, at St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Shakopee, surrounded by his family.
He was born in Waconia on January 29, 1947, a son of Gene and Georgiana Nan (Schepers) Moonen. He married Karen Kowitz on January 24, 1981, in Shakopee. Dave owned the Scott County Abstract and Title Company and the Carver County Abstract and Title Company. He was a member
of the Shakopee Lions Club. Dave enjoyed golfing, playing cards and having coffee with his friends. He especially loved spending time with his grandkids and family at the cabin.
He is survived by his wife; children Trish (Blaine) Erkenbrack, Nick (Stephani) Moonen, Erik (Michala) Klein, Aimee (Jon) Miller and Lisa (Mike) Beyerl; grandchildren Bryce and Alexa Erkenbrack, Nolan and Grant Moonen, Ethan and Marli Klein, Shayla and Isabella Miller and Wyatt and Walker Beyerl; his parents; siblings Terry (Nancy) Moonen, Tim Moonen and Mary Jo King; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister Diane Schaum.
Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday, Nov. 29, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Shakopee, with Rev. Peter Wittman and Rev. James Schoenberger officiating.
Interment was held at the Catholic Cemetery in Shakopee. Pallbearers were Erik Klein, Blaine Erkenbrack, Jon Miller, Mike Beyerl, Brent Moonen, Tim Moonen and Jason King.
Visitation was held Sunday from 3 to 7 p.m., and Monday from 9 to 10 a.m., at the McNearney Funeral Home in Shakopee.
