Dawn Adkins, 29
Dawn M. Adkins, 29, of Jordan, died on Saturday, Dec. 4, at Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park.
Dawn was born on April 15, 1975, at New Prague to David and Anita (Hiles) Worm.
She married Wayne Adkins on July 9, 1999, at Sturgis, SD. Dawn was employed as an elementary and special education teacher, which she loved to do. She taught at St. Michael’s Catholic School in Prior Lake and at St. John’s Catholic School in Jordan. She also enjoyed her part-time job waitressing at Ridges of Sand Creek Golf Club. She was a dedicated and loving mother to her children and was very active in 4-H. Dawn enjoyed gardening, sewing, fishing and the Vikings.
Dawn is survived by her husband, Wayne Adkins; children, Tawnya Adkins, Daniel Adkins, Rebekah Adkins, Michael Adkins and Matthew Adkins, all of Jordan; parents, Dave and Anita Worm, Jordan; grandmothers, Naomi Hiles, Belle Plaine, Katherine Worm, Jordan; brothers, Daryl (Jodi) Worm, Dale “Buddha” (Lynn) Worm, and Dean Worm, all of Jordan; nieces and nephews, Alex, Katie, Zachary, Emily and Joseph Worm, all of Jordan.
She was preceded in death by grandfathers, Joe Worm and Marvin Hiles.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, Dec. 7, from 3 until 8 p.m. at Ballard-Sunder Funeral Home in Jordan and also at the church one hour prior to services.
The funeral was held on Wednesday, Dec. 8, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Jordan. The Rev. John J. Mitchell officiated.
Pallbearers were Christopher, Cassidy, Cody, Mark and Jon Hiles, Brian Levanduski, and Daniel and Steven Krueger.
Interment was at Calvary Cemetery in Jordan.
