Daycare and signage topics at public hearings

New Prague Planning and Zoning Commission will hold two public hearings during its Wednesday, Oct. 24, meeting.
The first public hearing is for gathering input on a proposed new building to be located at the northeast corner of First Street NE and Chalupsky Avenue NE, north of the NAPA Auto Parts Store and Gerold Brothers Construction. A daycare would occupy the majority of the building, approximately 5,000 square feet, while the rest of the building (1,280 square feet) would be used for office or retail space.
The second hearing will look at possible amendments to the city's sign ordinance. Among the items to be discussed is the number of signs that would be allowed in the B2 zoning district - from the East Town Plaza to the future Coborn's grocery store site.
