Deborah Ann Eischens, 45

Deborah Ann Eischens, 45, a lifelong resident of St. Benedict/Belle Plaine Township, died on Saturday, Feb. 18, 2006, at home.

Deborah was born on April 30, 1960, in New Prague, to Leonard and Verna (Giesen) Eischens. She was a 1978 graduate of New Prague High School and graduated Suma Cum Laude from Mankato State University with a bachelor of science degree in math and biology. Deborah was employed as a lab technician (Quality Assurance) for Quali-Tech in Chaska. Debbie enjoyed her nieces and nephews, singing in the St. Benedict’s Choir, reading, crocheting, and bowling and playing softball with family and friends. She belonged to the Watt Ware Association and the Precious Moments Club. Deborah was also a CCD teacher and a treasurer of bowling leagues for over 10 years.

Deborah is survived by six brothers and sisters, Wendy (Pete) Scheffler, Granite Falls, Gail (Tom) Minnick, Belle Plaine, Stuart Eischens, Belle Plaine, Amy (Mark) Gillen, Savage, Penny Eischens, Belle Plaine, and Scott (Alicia) Eischens, Elko; 10 nieces and nephews, Kate, Angie, Maggie Scheffler; Taylor and Cole Minnick, Michael, Steven and Lindsey Gillen, and Allie and Nolan Eischens.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 21, at the Church of St. Benedict in St. Benedict. Rev. Elgar Bockenfeld officiated.

Pallbearers were Pete Scheffler, Tom Minnick, Stuart and Scott Eischens, Mark Gillen, John Whipps.

Honorary pallbearers were Alicia Eischens and Becky Weiers.

Interment was in St. Benedict Catholic Cemetery at St. Benedict.

Visitation was from 4 to 8 pm. on Monday and 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday at Bruzek Funeral Home in New Prague. Parish rosary was said at 7 p.m. on Monday.
