Debra Debbie Pfannes, 54

Debra L. Debbie Pfannes, 54, of St. Croix Falls, WI, formerly of Burnsville, died Friday, Jan. 7, 2011, at the Northfield Hospital Long Term Care Center, after a long and courageous battle with multiple sclerosis and a brain tumor.

She was born May 19, 1956, in St. Louis, MO, a daughter of Harley Joe and Nellie (Trost) Carson. Debbie moved at age eight to Burnsville, to St. Croix Falls in 1979 and to Northfield in 2006. She attended Burnsville Public School and Dakota County Vo-Tech in Rosemount. She was employed as a phone receptionist at the St. Croix Regional Medical Center in St. Croix Falls. She married Fredrick Pfannes on May 26, 1979, in Burnsville. She enjoyed making and selling crafts at annual Christmas bazaars. Debbie was always known for her friendliness and generosity. She will be remembered for her inner strength, the positive attitude she maintained throughout her illness, and her constant expressions of love and gratitude to those around her.

She is survived by her husband of 31 years; her father; siblings Sandy (Billy) King, Lewisville, TX, Le (Roxane) Carson, Apple Valley, and Michael (Kathy) Carson, Burnsville; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother on November 27, 2007; and a sister Kathy Carson in infancy.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Jan. 11, at 2:30 p.m., at the Church of St. Patrick of Cedar Lake, Jordan, with Rev. Orlando Tatel officiating

Interment was held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Resurrection Cemetery in Mendota Heights. Pallbearers were Jonathan Carson, Matthew Carson, Kristopher Carson, Brian Pfannes, Joseph Pfannes and Josh Leonard.

Visitation was held from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Bruzek Funeral Home in New Prague.
