Defibrillator placed at Community Center

Gary Meyer, vice president of Community Security Bank of New Prague, and Bill VanCura, president of the New Prague Ambulance Service, recently presented Connie Bartelt of the New Prague Area Community Center with an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED), which will be placed at the center. Community Security Bank donated $1,458 to the community defibrillator program in New Prague. The donation will be used along with a $3,900 grant from Metro EMS Region to purchase three defibrillators that will be placed around the community. Defibrillators are used to help people who have had heart attacks and so far 16 of the devices have been placed throughout town. The ambulance service has either helped with the purchase or the placement of these devices. Anyone wishing to donate to the program or who needs assistance in getting a defibrillator can contact VanCura.
